It seems counterintuitive, but taking breaks or rest days can help you sustain momentum when you’re working on a goal or a job search.
Pushing seven days a week, day and night, can lead to burnout, avoidance and/or giving up.
Consciously scheduling rest days or stopping work at a specific hour each day allows you to recharge and come back fresh and committed. (I know I sound like Captain Obvious here, but you’d be amazed at how few people do this.)
If guilt or worry arises, have a response ready to counter those thoughts such as, “I give myself free time, free from worry and doubt.” (That’s my go-to phrase on nights and weekends.)
I can help you identify habits that derail your goals – and superior strategies to stay on track – when you do one-on-one coaching with me or join my group program.
