I don’t know about you, but my camera roll and Notes App are absolutely STUFFED with inspirational quotations and motivational tips that I come across each day. I read awareness building self help, philosophy and coaching books and articles every single day, because they help me as a coach and as a human. (You’ll find some of my favourite titles, from Mel Robbins to Marcus Aurelius, in this list. I think the Art Of Living: The Classical Manual on Virtue, Happiness, and Effectiveness by Epictetus and Sharon Lebell might be one of my top faves.) Even as a teenager, I loved reading books like Awareness by Anthony DeMello and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. (What are some of your top book picks? Share here.) Okay, here are five inspiring and motivating quotes that I’m loving lately—just the tip of the iceberg!

When You Feel Daunted
I love this reframing quotation from Anne-Laure Le Cunff, the founder of Ness Labs and author of Tiny Experiments: How to Live Freely in a Goal-Obsessed World.
She says: “Replace ‘I don’t know what I’m doing’ with ‘I’m learning as I go.'”
Focusing on learning and curiosity helps you stay relaxed and motivated while pushing back on overwhelm, fear and anxiety. Reframing is a skill that I can help you develop.

Who Knew Jim Carrey Was Such A Philosopher?
It’s totally normal to feel afraid of learning a new skill, changing careers, going back to school, etc.
But as actor and author Jim Carrey says, “You can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.”
You CAN learn to understand your fears and decide whether it’s worth taking action anyway. Because it’s never too late to start living a life that you love.

Listen To James Clear
I really appreciate the newsletter, Instagram feed, books and thoughts of James Clear, author of Atomic Habits.
And I particularly love this quote of his: “Working on a problem reduces the fear of it. It’s hard to fear a problem when you are making progress on it—even if progress is imperfect and slow. Action relieves anxiety.”
Sometimes when we’re afraid of change or failure, we procrastinate, keep “researching,” or tell ourselves that we’re “waiting for the right time” to pursue the thing we’re afraid of. (Coaching can help, if this sounds like you.) The more we do that, the more fear builds. Taking even a small step gets us out of our head and learning along the way.

Mel Robbins’ Let Them Theory
Have you read The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins yet?
Mel’s quote recalls both stoic and Buddhist philosophy that while we can’t control what other people do, we can control our reactions and responses. As she says, “The more you let other people live their lives, the better your life gets. The more control you give up, the more you gain.”
If you’re constantly frustrated by the people around you, coaching with me can help you discern what’s in your control and discover mindset tools to help you let go of the things that aren’t.

Follow Zanna Keithley
Full disclosure: I like and save practically every Instagram post of Zanna Keithley, author of This Is How You Find Your Way.
This particular quote of hers is super powerful: “Loving is worth it. Feeling is worth it. Trying is worth it. Not holding back. Not minimizing yourself or your dreams. Not always taking the safe and easy road when your heart is pulling you in an different direction. It’s worth it. You’re worth it.”
