It may feel awkward at first, but research shows that positive affirmations help reduce stress and incite beneficial action. The Mayo Clinic also notes that positive self-talk is also connected to numerous health benefits such as better cardiovascular health and a longer life span.
If you feel resistance to saying positive things about yourself, ask yourself whether a good friend would agree with your affirmation. They likely would, right?
